This course will give what you need to have short conversations in Cornish. We will start by looking at how much you already know about the Cornish language and your reasons for learning Cornish. We will discuss the relationship of Cornish to other Celtic languages and to the Cornish dialect. We will explore the place of Cornish within contemporary culture.
The weekend is designed as a combination of formal sessions with opportunities to develop your spoken Cornish informally. You are very welcome to stay here with me in my home. There are other accommodation options nearby, in and around the beautiful Fowey valley. Excellent food can be found in the restaurants, pubs and cafés of Lostwithiel.
This intensive language course is designed for adults. We will be working on the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. You will be able to learn at your own pace. I will provide you with a helpful introductory pack on the language. I will also give you information about how you can continue with your Cornish.
In my language school I focus on teaching the Late variant of the Standard Written Form (SWF-L).
£200 per person for the weekend (inclusive of accommodation on Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday)
